Uncle Stevie Nehu Livestream

It was with a heavy heart on June 17th 2020 that we bid farewell to our beloved Uncle Taiwhanake Stevie Pearson, a father, an uncle, a brother, a talented host of the Saturday Sports Show, a friend. Uncle Stevie began working at Moana Radio in November 1993 and has been delivering the Sports Show alongside Hutch every Saturday ever since.

Moana Radio was there to see our Matua off in style. We were approached by the whānau pani to provide a Livestream for those whānau who could not make it back due to Covid-19 border restrictions. The nehu itself was held in two seperate locations. The first being Huria Marae, where a Ratana service was held and then to Greerton Marist Rugby Club where Uncle Stevie’s friends talked of a gentle, yet highly motivated man who believed in and loved his club as much as his marae. We were honoured to take part.
