2nd Black Lives Matter Protest Scheduled

Date- Sunday, 5th of July
Time- 12P to approx 3PM
Now is the time to raise your voice and show solidarity with the BLM movement. As the attention in our media fades, it is still vital for us to continue to show up as this is not a trend. More Black lives have been lost in police hands since George Floyd and the fight for justice is still ongoing.
Join us on this day as it is the national Independence Day in the United States. We will march peacefully for the liberty of Black Lives as we are not free until we are all free. We must also bring to light the racial injustices that exist in our own communities and choose to stand in true, active alliance. Join us for humanity. For justice. Spread the love. Spread the word!
Gather at Coronation Park at 12P for briefing. March through town and end at Mount Drury for commencement ceremony.
We chose this date as it is the national Independence Day in the US. We want to show our solidarity with the movement and voice that there is not liberty for all until there is liberty of the Black and Colored community. We also want to draw attention to racial relations in our own NZ communities and emphasize the importance of generating conversations on these topics. We plan to promote anti-racism and provide resources for self-education at the end.
As mentioned, we are still seeking speakers for the end of the event. Our goal is to give a platform for people from the affected communities to speak their message in their expressive form. We appreciate any contacts you have that may want to share a word on the topic of racial injustice.
We are more than happy to come in this week for an interview about the event! Thanks so much for that opportunity. Wednesday works ideally for us. Santi does have school at Papamoa College but can do lunchtime (12:35P- 1:25P) there or after school in the studio about 3:30P or later ?
