Apology to Ngaī Tamarawaho
Yet another step forward to healing hurts of time gone by.
A public apology by Ōtūmoetai Primary School to the hapū of Ngāi Tamarāwaho for the removal of all Māori students in 1938.
It takes a brave school to acknowledge wrongs of the past. Congratulations to Zara, your staff, your Board and community for being courageous and progressive despite the rhetoric of others still in denial of past atrocities.
