Harbourside Netball Centre is holding a representative netball tournament in honour of late HarboursideNetball Centre Manager - Helen Dodge. The representative tournament is open to rep and school teamsfrom year 7 to under 19s and will be held on Sunday 24th June. Current Harbourside Netball Centre Manager, Tracy Walters, wants to ensure that Helen’s Memorial Tournament is special. She has incorporated MC’s, music, trophies and an appearance from Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic players. Helen’s whanau from Gisborne will also be coming, which will make the day extra special. Tracy states, “Although I didn’t have the opportunity to meet her, I know Helen workedextremely hard for Harbourside Netball. She dedicated over 26 years to this community, and it is important for us to honour her mahi and her memory with a special tournament. ”Helen is widely recognized and respected in the Bay of Plenty netball community. For many of local netballers, Helen was there from kiwi-ferns on Thursday afternoon’s right through to Thursday premier netball and further. The Helen Dodge Memorial Tournament is available to Year 7, Year 8, Under 15, Under 17, and Under 19 school and rep teams.
